Update: Optional Semester Exam Information

  • In order to recoup lost instructional time, midterm exams in high school credit courses have been cancelled.
  • Midterm exams will only be given if requested by the student (or the parent) or required by the college or university for dual-enrollment credit.
  • Midterm exams will only to be administered as exams for those students who opt to sit for the exam.
  • If a student elects to take a midterm exam, it will be counted as an exam grade if it helps a student’s semester grade.
  • February 18, 2019 will now be a full instructional day for all students
  • Friday, January 28, 2019 remains a full clerical day/student holiday

Deep Run’s plan to administer the option exam(s):  

Students that want to take an exam will follow this schedule:  In order to recoup lost instructional time and move on, these will be the only days available to take the optional exam(s). No other dates will be added.

  • December 18, 2018- Tuesday AM (9:15-10:55)  English and Electives
  • December 18, 2018-Tuesday PM (1:45- 3:25)  Science and CIT electives (Web Design, Capstone, Foundations etc.)
  • December 19, 2018-Wednesday AM (9:15-10:55)  Math and Electives
  • December 19, 2018-Wednesday PM (1:45-3:25)  Social Studies and Electives

If you decide to take an exam on the makeup dates- please communicate with your teacher and let them know on Thursday (12-13-18) or Friday (12-14-18) so all planning can be done on Monday to accommodate other students and their exam requests.  All exams and any testing materials will be sent to School Counseling labeled with the (student’s name, period, teachers name, and course title).  All Exams will be given in the library on the 18th and 19th.
