Wildcat Weekly 9/13/21

A MESSAGE FROM DR. FELLOWS

Wildcat Community:

It was an awesome week having a building full of Wildcats for three days!

As we begin to settle into the school year, please know how much we love having our learners in the building every day! We appreciate the patience and understanding of our school community as we are working through some issues with transportation – each day is getting better. We also appreciate everybody following new procedures using the crosswalk in the student parking lot.

Wildcats – Please set your short and long-term goals for the school year. Share them with your parents/guardians/caregivers and teachers – and strive to get better each day and pursue excellence. The teachers and staff will support you as you pursue your goals!

Please reach out to any member of the Wildcat Faculty and Staff if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or needs.

Thank you!

STUDENT ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE PROCEDURES

Please review the DRHS traffic flow map.

Arrival:

Student drivers should use the entrance by the stadium and use the left lane when approaching the school and their parking space. Please be aware students will be walking throughout the parking lot and will be utilizing the cross-walk.

Those dropping off students should utilize the main entrance (by the electronic marquee) or the entrance by the stadium. All cars dropping off students should utilize the far right lane – closest to the school – and should move as far forward as possible before stopping to drop off students.  Please be cognizant of students utilizing the cross-walk and follow the instructions of the school staff. You should not get out of line once dropping your child(ren) off  – continue moving forward utilizing the far right lane. Please wait until the car in front of you starts moving. DO NOT MAKE A LEFT TURN from the drop-off lane.

The Center Lane should not be utilized.

Departure:

Picking up students – Prior to the 3:55p dismissal bell, once the far right lane is full of cars, people should park in an empty parking space. Please follow the instructions provided by staff. Those who park in an empty parking space should text the student being picked up to remind him/her to use the crosswalk and the location of the parked car.

Again, please follow the instructions provided by staff.
