A MESSAGE FROM DR. FELLOWS
We hope you have had a good start to the week. As stated over the weekend, the goal is for these weekly communications to be sent in the middle of the week.
Reminder – no school tomorrow, Thursday, September 16 in observance of Yom Kippur.
We continue to be thankful for the entire Wildcat Community for your patience and understanding as we settle into the school year.
If you are a student driver or if you drop off/pick up a student, you are encouraged to read, again, the procedures in the next section. Thank you! IMPORTANT: you may not park or pick up/drop off in the neighborhoods or businesses surrounding the school. This includes the Twin Hickory Library, Twin Hickory Elementary School, and Twin Hickory Park. We have been notified that they will start ticketing/towing vehicles. We need to be good neighbors. Thank you.
Please be aware some of the information in the Wildcat Weekly emails will be repetitive from the previous weeks because the information is still relevant.
Please continue to let any member of our Faculty and Staff know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Have a great remainder of the week and a wonderful weekend.
Back to School Night will be on Monday, September 27, 2021 starting at 6p. This year’s event will be fully virtual and you will have an opportunity to follow your child’s schedule and the teacher will meet with the ‘class’ Live using a Microsoft Teams link. There will be more information to follow.
STUDENT ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
Please review the DRHS traffic flow map.
Student drivers should use the entrance by the stadium and use the left lane when approaching the school and their parking space. Please be aware students will be walking throughout the parking lot and will be utilizing the cross-walk.
Those dropping off students should utilize the main entrance (by the electronic marquee) or the entrance by the stadium. All cars dropping off students should utilize the far right lane – closest to the school – and should move as far forward as possible before stopping to drop off students. Please be cognizant of students utilizing the cross-walk and follow the instructions of the school staff. You should not get out of line once dropping your child(ren) off – continue moving forward utilizing the far right lane. Please wait until the car in front of you starts moving. DO NOT MAKE A LEFT TURN from the drop-off lane.
The Center Lane should not be utilized.
Departure: Picking up students
Prior to the 3:55p dismissal bell, once the far right lane is full of cars, people should park in an empty parking space. Please follow the instructions provided by staff. Those who park in an empty parking space should text the student being picked up to remind him/her to use the crosswalk and the location of the parked car.
Again, please follow the instructions provided by staff.
