Wildcat Weekly #8

A MESSAGE FROM DR. FELLOWS

Wildcat Community:

On behalf of the Wildcat Community, we want to thank the first responders who were on-site at Deep Run to help with the fire alarm situation that occurred on Tuesday. We are thankful for the partnership we have with the Henrico County First Responders. During our debrief conversation, we appreciate their perspectives on the things we, as a school community, can do to improve in the event of another incident.

The end of the first quarter (Q1) is next Monday, November 1. Students – make sure to finish strong and get all missing assignments submitted to your teachers As Soon As Possible.

As a reminder, there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 2, and Thursday, November 4. Please see below for information on how to register for Parent-Teacher Conferences.

On Thursday, November 4, we will also kick off the first in a series of Community Forums with Dr. Fellows to take place each month until May. Please CLICK HERE for more information.

Have a great remainder of the week and a wonderful weekend.

#WildcatPrideRunsDeep

Thank you!

NEWS FROM HCPS – SCREENING TESTING FOR WINTER ATHLETICS

Screening tests for winter Athletics: Athletics is an important part of the development of our students, and we want to provide a safe environment for competition as the weather cools. That’s why HCPS will soon begin weekly screening tests of athletes and coaches, to identify asymptomatic COVID-19 cases early and stop transmission. Testing is expected to begin on November 8 at the high school level and November 15 at the middle school level. Students participating in winter athletics must submit one student and parent/guardian consent form (electronically or paper copy) to their coach or athletic director for weekly participation in screening testing throughout the season. (Forms will be available through your coach, our school’s athletic director, on the HCPS website or soon through the vendor’s website.) Student-athletes can opt-out of weekly screening tests if they are fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination to our school athletic director.
