Mr. Smart joins Deep Run after many years of teaching at James River High School and is excited to become more involved in the community he calls home. His connection to Deep Run is a special one! His wife serves as our librarian, and his daughter will become a Wildcat in 2027!
This year, Mr. Smart will be teaching College Prep Geometry and Algebra 2 Honors in the CIT department, working primarily with our 9th and 10th grade students.
Outside the classroom, he enjoys listening to audiobooks, watching shows like Tracker and Lioness, and traveling with his family especially to Surf City, Cape Charles, and Disney World.
We're excited to welcome Mr. Smart to the Deep Run community. Be sure to give him a warm Wildcat welcome!

Mrs. Mullis joins Deep Run with 24 years of experience in education and is beginning her fourth year as an assistant principal. She previously served as an assistant principal and teacher at Godwin High School and was also a middle school exceptional education teacher and department chair.
A graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and UVA (Go Hoos!), Mrs. Mullis is passionate about building community, celebrating students and staff, and creating a school where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
We're excited to have her at Deep Run and can't wait for our students and staff to get to know her. Welcome to the Wildcat family! 💙

Hi Wildcats! I’m Mr. Chris Clement, and I’m excited to begin my first year as Associate Principal at Deep Run High School. I bring 18 years of experience in education, including time as both a teacher and administrator at Glen Allen. I’m passionate about instructional leadership, building strong relationships, and helping both students and staff grow.
